Affiliate Disclosure
We believe in being upfront about how Coast Cake Supplies makes money. This page explains, in plain English, exactly how we earn revenue and why it does not compromise the honesty of our reviews.
How we earn money
Coast Cake Supplies is a free-to-use website funded by affiliate commissions. When you click one of our links to a gambling operator and go on to register and play, that operator may pay us a commission for the referral. That commission is how we keep the site running, pay our reviewers, and continue testing operators with real money.
It costs you nothing
You never pay more because you came through us. The bonuses, odds and terms you get are exactly the same as if you had gone to the operator directly — and often you get the same or a better welcome offer. The commission is paid by the operator out of their marketing budget, not added to your costs.
Commercial relationships never influence our ratings
This is the most important point on the page. An operator cannot pay us to rank higher, to soften or remove a negative review, or to hide a payout complaint. Our ratings and rankings are set by our published review methodology — a 25-point process across six weighted criteria — and our reviewers do not know or care what commission an operator pays when they score it. If a site fails our tests, it scores badly regardless of any commercial arrangement, and we will say so plainly.
Which links are affiliate links?
On our site, affiliate links are typically the "Visit", "Play" or "Claim bonus" buttons and the operator names in our comparison tables and reviews. These outbound links to operators carry tracking so that a referral can be attributed to us. Internal links (to our other guides and pages) and links to independent resources such as the Problem Gambling Foundation are not affiliate links and earn us nothing.
Our editorial independence
Our editorial team operates separately from any commercial arrangement. We test operators with real accounts and real deposits in New Zealand dollars, and we downgrade or delist sites that treat players badly — even when they are commercial partners. You can read more about the team and our standards on our about page and authors page.
Transparency and NZ honesty commitment
In the spirit of transparency standards such as the US FTC's endorsement guidelines and the UK ASA's advertising rules, we clearly disclose our affiliate relationships wherever they appear, including an advertiser-disclosure line on pages that contain affiliate links. As a New Zealand business, we are also committed to the honesty and fair-dealing principles of the Fair Trading Act 1986 — we will not make misleading claims about operators, bonuses or our own independence.
If you ever feel something on our site is misleading or unclear, please tell us via our contact page. We take that feedback seriously.
